Red Hat is the leader in open-source business software. After 20 years, they had become a $1B+ company known for their virtually indestructible Linux operating system—but were having trouble breaking into the larger enterprise software conversation. After a relatively modest traditional advertising launch, we decided to take a different approach and directly engage the one person everyone in IT wants to talk to: CIOs.
We launched The Enterprisers Project as a partnership between Red Hat, CIO magazine and Harvard Business Review to explore the changing role of today's CIOs. Publishing and editing hundreds of articles, dozens of videos and two custom research reports, we found out that this is a pretty exciting time to be a CIO. And an even better time to be an Enterpriser.
