Cracker Barrel Old Country Store
Over the span of 10 years, I worked with Cracker Barrel Old Country Store in a variety of capacities. First with a Boston-based agency, then later as part of a virtual in-house design department, I was lead writer for all in-store marketing and out-of-store advertising efforts. This included seasonal restaurant and retail store promotions, outdoor and radio advertising, and local store support—as well as core menu re-designs and new product packaging. And I was lucky to be involved with the ideation of Cracker Barrel's in-store music program and their rich, roots-music catalogue.
I was really lucky, though, to be able to work with Dallas-based designer and creative director, Kenny Garrison, to create a nine-year series of award-winning annual reports for Cracker Barrel's parent company, CBRL Group Inc.
But the most fun we had was a four-year run of Travel Almanacs—sourcing facts, spinning stories, and pulling together far-flung bits of nostalgia, all curated and compiled for Cracker Barrel's highway-centric customers.
